I'm not sure about using the term 'news' for this section, but I was thinking this page could be used for announcements (events, meeting dates etc.). Newsletter pdf files can also be linked here for download. (I know some of them are .doc/word documents right now, but I can convert them (and any other document) to a pdf file if you'd like)
